What happened?

ESPN BET went live in 17 states last week.

Fuelled by some pretty generous sign-up offers of upto $200 in free bets, the group, the app apparently set records for the number of downloads in its first two days.

But whilst more than half of US punters say they will at least try ESPN BET, this doesn’t necessarily auger well.

In fact, a quick perusal of online betting forums throws up many complaints about long withdrawal times, limited number of props, and poor customer service.

Why might ESPN struggle?
